Looking for a little bit of input here. There's so many Dark Eldar out there rendered in grimdark black and blood red and emo dark green out there. I wanna be different. I wanna be a special snowflake for once. So these Kabalite Warriors will be seeing a bronze/brass paintjob from me. Of course, that's when my OCD gets the best of me and I can't decide between basecoats. So, here's five that made my inital cut. From left to right:
1. Straight Balthasar Gold basecoat, overlaid with Carroburg Crimson ink wash.
2. Black basecoat, Warplock Bronze 2nd coat, Casandora Yellow ink wash.
3. The simplest one. Straight Warplock Bronze basecoat with a Nuln Oil ink wash. I could churn these out in a very short period of time but the results are lower-quality.
4. The toughest one. Black basecoat, Screamer Pink 2nd coat (yes, really), Balthasar Gold heavy drybrush, Nuln Oil ink wash. Vallejo Blue basecoat for the hair. I think this looks the best so far but dear God-Emperor is it labor-intensive.
5. Black basecoat, Warplock Bronze 2nd coat, Agrax Earthshade ink wash.
Any comments or suggestions for working with these will be greatly appreciated. Once I get the basecoat hammered down I can really get moving on these; I want to have the first squad up and running by this weekend. More pics to follow!

Honestly I was leaning towards anything that wasn't #1. #4 is my preference, although #2 is starting to grow on me. I need to consider how to link these in with the rest of my army. Vehicles are easy enough, but what about Wyches? Scourges? The Scourges will be the centerpiece of the army, so...
You could still paint the armor on the Wyches the same color. Just gotta find a fitting one for the rest of their outfits. Red would work well, but that would make them look rather Khorne-ish. Regarding Scourges, I never painted any of those, but they look mostly the same as Warriors as far as design elements are concerned. Just gotta come up with something for the wings.
Yeah, I thought that's what would happen. I'll probably finish up one model each in type 1, 2, and 4, and make a choice from there. #3 would be really easy but this isn't Guard or Nids and I have professional pride dammit. #5 is just... kinda there.
Dammit. Now I wanna see Maya in a Wych outfit.

The Power of the Hornet Rat compels you! Oh wait, that's ME... Sorry, I like making conversions for my squeaky Chaos Renegade Traitor Guard. They're loads of fun. At one point, I had parts from every plastic boxed set GW made in that army! That was over a decade ago, though. I've fallen behind. :P
