Sheba has become the second furry family member to join us. The first is Roxie. My husband loved her so much that he decided to keep her, so the deal was if he got her to behave and not piss off the landlord any more, he could keep her. So far so good, let's just hope she keeps up the good work or else, sadly, she will have to find a new home. (When I say she screws up, it's not just a small matter- the last time she screwed up, she almost costed us our residency where we're currently staying. NO, NOT AN APARTMENT- sorry to disappoint you if you thought that.)
Let's see if people can be less of an asshole this time around and actually get the point of it all.
Flame wars aren't welcome, sorry to disappoint.
Meet Sheba, a 9 month old Husky/Australian Shepherd Mix puppy. (Big puppy huh?)
Hyper, spunky, and loves giving hugs (she'll stand up on her back legs and wrap her front ones around you). Smart, but doesn't always like to listen (typical puppy). She's another shelter dog that we found.

Don't be a dickhead about it, I'm tired of these people being complete assholes over the dog. God I've never seen so much drama over an animal.
Half husky, half Australian shepherd.

Believe me, she's extremely fluffy. The part that the vet shaved on her leg for the catheter is shaved down to the skin... the fluff on her leg (the shorter fluff anyway) is about 1/2 an inch long and very thick. She's got longer fluff on the back side of her legs and her rump is just amazing- the fur on her butt is longer than that on her tail XD
Someone was actually low enough to continue it by taking it to livejournal. I blocked them on here for all of their BS, and they're dumb enough to keep it up by just moving it to another site and bothering me there. I told them I'd mark them as spam (and I did) and if they kept it up, they'd be reported to FA and LJ staff. There's a time and place to just stop and if someone blocks you because you're just dragging it out......why the hell would you move it to another site? I guess they really must need the attention or something. What do you think?
To take the dog back to the shelter at once because somehow it's not suitable for her to live here and that I demand too much when I'm asking the pup to learn how to not bark/howl 24-7 when outside and when I ask her to learn how to come when called.
"You can't expect a 9 month old puppy to do that!" ....... that's one of thee most basic of all basics of training- if the dog hasn't learned that yet, there's a problem. She knows it, but doesn't always abide by it- which can cause us grief and trouble. If she barks and howls all the time, the landlords hear it- they specifically stated to all of their renters that uncontrolled barking will not be tolerated- but to this person that was a 'bad move by the land owner'. Also, if ANY of the dogs that people bring with them when they set up here happen to get loose and bother the horses, it has been made very clear to EVERYONE staying here that they will shoot the dog if found bothering the horses. Why? They're in a fenced in area- yeah it's not real huge or anything, but the ground in Wyoming is pretty much pure clay and sand- when that gets wet, it turns into a nasty muck that can cause serious damage.
There are also some small, yet somewhat steep hills inside that fenced in area. If the horses are running around all the time they'll either break a leg, or bust down the fence and get out. The person tried to tell me that that's my problem and my fault if it happens and that I should put the horses in a better pen. I DON'T OWN THE HORSES! They're not my problem or my concern and for damn sure I'm not going to walk up to my landlord and be all cocky and say 'hey asshole, relocate your horses' like this person thinks I should.
All I ask of the puppy is to come when called, that way if she escapes (like she has before) she isn't bothering the horses at all and I don't have to worry about chasing her around and around the property out here TRYING to get her to leave them alone. If she just came when she was called, it would be quick, easy and painless. The horses don't run around, the landlord doesn't get pissed off at me, and I don't have to spend hours trying to catch her. To this person, however, it's my fault that the puppy doesn't always listen. She listens to my husband more than me, but either way, it's not always like that on a daily basis. Mostly she has a problem with obedience when she goes outside. Inside, she's fine- outside, she just 'forgets' all of a sudden.

....um what. So you want your doggie to behave so youj don't get in trouble. Big deal- that's perfectly understandable. If that person really believes all that you've relayed to me...i can't imagine how their dog(s) behave if they have any.
As far as the horses go...yeah let's just magically fix the terrain of an entire area. It really doesn't matter where they are roaming anyway, it's not good for them to be terrorized. So that's a harsh but needed rule in my opinion. So yes, of course you want to teach your dog to not go loose, or when she does will come back when called. It's in everyone's best interest. I think the person who's bothering you about it decided to run their mouth about a situation they dont quite understand.
So forget about them, I hate people like that. And good luck keeping Sheba in check- she's a cute little thing and I'd hate for you to have to give her up. My friend and I got her puppy under control by watching a show on BBC called "It's Me or the Dog," if you've heard of it.

Don't watch BBC- actually I don't think we get it on Dish X3 I'll check into what package it's on and possibly order that one instead of the basic channel listing. Depending on what time the show's on (or better yet, find it online! the magical world of the internet where time zones DON'T matter XD). Sounds like something that'd be worth while. I wish I got animal planet to watch the dog whisperer.
Actually that's an idea- if she keeps it up I'll see about submitting her to that dog whisperer show. Just my luck she'd behave with him around though (usually when there's other people around by her other than us, she behaves.... it's like it takes a crowd of people to make her happy O_o).
I told the person that the reason why the landlord doesn't want the dogs over there is extremely legit. If this were my land and I had lots I was renting and renter had a dog that was out there bugging the horses, I'd make it known to the renter that they need to do something to keep the dog under control. Shooting the dog would be the last resort (and is for these people). If you let your dog just run (ex. our neighbor's german shep.... he's generally off the leash) and have been told keep them on a leash...... well yeah, then shooting is fair game- you've been told plenty of times what will happen if you don't keep them on the leash. Our neighbors actually pay an extra 200 dollars a month just for the landlord to put up with them and their dogs (as well as other problems they cause). I'd rather not be the second person down the line to have to do that. Roxie? No problems- her previous owners either trained her to behave as well as she does (doubt it because she was abused) or she's just naturally good for the most part because of her breeds. She has her time and place to be hyper, but it's pretty appropriate (except for when you walk through the door and she comes to get you because you've been gone).

Aww. I was gonna say, i think it's on AP too but you don't have that either. I'm sure you can find it online, yeah. Her techniques are pretty effective, thought they take a lot of patience. I hope it's helpful.
Yeah, make a tape and send it in. I can see that happening- not that it's a good thingXD
Sounds fair enough to me. Yeah, I wouldn't want to be a problem case either.
Hmm, that's odd. I've known a few abused dogs, and they all behaved surprisingly well. Interesting.

I think it's because of the fact that you're not abusing them. They don't have any real reason to misbehave at all because they know that you're not going to hurt them.
I'd like to have him mess around with the puppy just for the fun of it, to see if he's worth anything or not. So long as I don't have to pay him big bucks to play with the dog, fine by me.
As for satellite- I blame my dad because technically it is his (since we moved into his place, we just kept the subscription- hasn't been a month yet so no chance on updating it until the next billing cycle- and idk how much a few of the other channels I want will cost...... though we get useless things like 10 different playboy channels and a number of other porno channels O_o; Stuff I don't recall getting with the basic package when I lived at my mom's.) Unfortunately I'm stuck with Dish Network unless I wana pay out for a new dish and everything for a different brand. Stupid >_<

I'd have to say it's because of my dad because the whole set up was his. We just moved in and he had paid for the whole month, so it's on for now. Direct TV's most basic package still had AP, but it lacked things like stars, movie max, hbo, and a few others that were 'special' channels and would only come on at certain times of the year if you didn't have it already. I'm not real familiar with Dish at all, but one would think that AP would be included in all of it. Sure we get all of the movie channels and some extras, but still.
I somehow HIGHLY doubt the porn is part of the 'basic' package, though. God only knows what he watched on TV.
