Anyone who knows me, or has seen me more then once, knows that I am a big 'Lord of the Rings' fan. I had read the books before, but the movies are what really got me back into it.

I especaily liked Viggo Mortensen's portrayal of Aragorn (I rather like the rugged, outdoorsy type) and knew that I had to draw him.

I used some movie stills and a model I have on my shelf to sketch up the body and for a long time I struggled with wether I should attempt to keep him human, or try for a Fur; and if Furry, what species?
In the end I remembered that I suck with human faces and I just couldn't think of any other species more appropiate for him then a wolf.

This is actually one of my favorite peices and whenever someone asks to see what I can do with pen and pencil, this is the first one I reach for.
