A dumb little comic of some observations I made a gillion years
ago that I doodled. eve Silly furries and their janky standards.
1) Choosing a typical species found in the fandom is seen as a fashion crime
to some. To others, it's picking something uncommon. Fursona species
is personally picked by the owner yet people find it very hip to knock down
others a peg. Don't feel bad about what species you chose! uvu
2) Being different annoys some too. Yep. :I Can't please everyone! I see
some real cool species fly by and then run into some kind of snide comment
on how the owner should feel bad for it. XP
3/4) 999 watchers? Not NEARLY cool enough, right? Once you hit that 1000,
things can go a few ways. Mainly, I notice the big freak out. You can feel
people glare through their comments. "Yeah, but they're stuck up every
single time! ALL OF THEM!" Yeah, some are. Yeah, I ran into many. No,
not nearly all. :P There is also the other path. People crash through the
walls and cling to you trying to be your best friend since they found out
you got a name out there. Kinda like when you get a new fursuit, everyone
suddenly cares all the sudden. :>
Silly stuff is silly, don't get too worked up over it!

I don't mind it, though I wonder how it comes that everyone says T-rexes are unoriginal and all that when virtually no one uses one. At least not feral ones (Seriously, 3/4 rexes i see are anthro.) I guess it's because it's the go-to dinosaur when you're like 6 years old or something? I don't even know.

Totally true and well explain. I think that I'm a bit special too but this is what I love *make the difference and enjoy the variety*, I don't care about the popularity but more about what I want and what I choose to do. And a lot of peoples try to be special and do the same =3. In the end we have all different kind of thoughts ( and the most important *meet amazing peoples*)
so much this! haven't encountered them personally, but saw them often enough from the sidewalk. and the results of the mentioned critics about someone's fursona.

Most if not all of these can pertain to outside the furry fandom as well.. It's sad really. :\
Though I'll admit that I'm a bit guilty of the very last one.. Not in the sense that they must be some rude person but in the sense that if they're popular then they're intimidating because in comparison I'm a nobody. xD;

Yeah i have that intimidation factor when i look at more popular individuals. and when you comment on something andthey respond its the senpai noticed me thing but sometimes its the oh god what do i say to not make an ass of myself. I know personally theres some artists and individuals itd like to get to know better but im afraid they take it as me trying to take advantage of those things.

There's been a few artists that I'd like to get to know better or interact with more because of common interests or such but I fear that they'll assume I'm trying to get chummy with them for free stuff.
Although I'd much rather pay for art rather than receive gifts, especially from a friend. Any opportunity to be able to toss some money their way to help them out.

Haha! Yup, all of this. Some random guy at a con came up to our group and asked what we all were. Turns out: one wolf, one cat, and three hybrids. He made fun of wolf and cat for being common, and he made fun of hybrids for being "unique snowflakes trying to get attention." Meanwhile, he was some obscure species, and while he was the one obviously running around for attention, we noticed the entire con that he was almost always alone. No friends. Must be a sad life being that much of a hater. ;D
The way I see it, I'm curious about someone's species, but I'm more curious why they chose it! ^.^ Presumably, it gives at least a bit of insight into who they are. I think that's cool and want to know more about the choice. ^.^

Well that and the music they listen to the art they enjoy and what they do in general past times can help get a soldi understanding as to who they are. I personally think musics a glimpse at the soul myself. Heavy rap music may indicate a very troubled soul. Rock may indicate an angry soul or one in distress... ANd im starting to ramble SORRY!
Yeah, those types usually don't attract many friends with that attitude... then continue to post things like "Why no1 like me?" and it's just kinda sad. XD I see it all the dang time on Facebook. Most of the posts are complaints about everyone and just overall negativity, then straight after it's "Everyone must be loosers for not liking me." kinda deal.

I'll say these things.
First: A fursona can look basic but it's the story behind the character or their abilities that makes them unique, prime example, my sona. He looks basic and average but there's a heck of a lot more to him. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/17958230 that's him.
Second: Every animal is special in some way *offers the Rex a big hug*
As for the third and fourth panels: As a photographer with over 300 watchers (I totally never expected to get that many) A peson can have all the watchers in the world and that doesn't determine that they're rude disrespectful people. I know of quite a few artists with well over 1,000 watchers that are truly awesome people and you're one of them.

Yeah, this really shows that there are still a lot of people who do not look past the surface and go deeper into the person, their craft, how they got into the Fandom, what they aim to achieve on the site, what they...well, you get the idea. This time, I'll reply to each frame separately, each reflecting a point that I think people guilty of this need to understand:
1. Foxes might be frequent, but no two foxes are ever the same. And you don't have to look very hard to prove this. :3
2. Rexes, while uncommon, can be unique just as any other species can be, especially if you value character development.
3. The vast majority of creators who aren't well known deserve your attention, especially if they're striving to improve and get themselves out there.
4. I've met some popular Furs on and off FA who have let fame go to their head and turned into some of the most selfish and arrogant people you'll ever come across. But that isn't always the case; just as there are some horrible people who have become popular, so there are plenty of lovely ones out there too. :3

I actually felt kinda guilty over picking a dragon fursona (scalesona? dracosona?) because we're so common in the fandom.

Your work with expressions really impress me, the sad face of the rex and the friendly artist, just trying to sell some nice art and gets shouted at for nothing. It truely makes me feel sad, poor guys.
Some people may think they have "standards", but are just arrogant and rude in the end. It's really sad indeed.
