Having your car break down isn't a fun experience. Having it break down in the middle of the night is worse. Having it break down in the middle of a giant pumpkin patch during October is probably the worst. Pana found himself walking through a pumpkin patch with weirdly huge pumpkins, trying to find some sign of the direction towards civilization. He was so distracted that he didn't notice one of the pumpkins lean forward, exposing its anthropomorphic head and breathing out orange gas onto him. He inhaled it, wondering why the air smelled like pumpkin spice before noticing that the gigantic monster was leaning over him with a beastly grin.
He fled, expecting the monster to follow, but was surprised to see it simply watching him run. He soon found out why as a heat started burning in the pit of his stomach and it started to expand. Unlike previous experiences with expansion, his whole torso was expanding, becoming spherical. Then, to his growing horror, it started to turn orange and ridged, his skin hardening into a rind. The color spread up his arms, which started to grow larger with the rest of his body. His growing torso consumed his legs and came to rest covering his feet, which soon emerged as orange and hard as the rest of his body.
The hellhound was feeling very strange, hollow, yet moist inside his new pumpkin torso. His flight had slowed to a lumber as his lack of legs made each step a chore. But he hoped that if he could escape the pumpkin patch, he could halt his transformation. As he lurched along, green started to spread along his tails, transforming them into vines and more vines started to sprout out of his back. Leaves began to pop out around his still normal, although larger head, giving him a ruff of leaves. H
He spotted the edge of the pumpkin patch and hurried towards it, but could already feel his head thickening and hardening as his horns turned into a pair of large thorns. He slowed to a halt as his tail vines burst into flames and orange mist filled his mind, blanking out everything. He settled down where he'd stopped with a huff, letting his body cover his feet. The beast was now content to wait, using his tail flames to lure unsuspecting travellers to their pumpkiny fate, where they would join him in the patch until all hallow's eve had passed.
