Mud makes a great babysitter.

First find a good thick mud puddle.
Second strip child down to diaper, training pants or pull-ups and T-shirt (don't want the little one getting too much sun on the shoulders or back)
Third anchor child a little over his or her ankles in the mud step a safe distance away (stay close enough to rescue child if needed)
fourth let a child have fun, cleanup is easy just grabbed a garden hose removed diaper, training pants or pull-ups and T-shirt and just rinse child off before taking back into the house.

I have done this before works very well for a long time and you have a happy little one. Except for maybe when you go trying to remove them from mud puddle.

It was never mud fights when my nephews and I had play days as kids. It was sneaking kitchenware outside to make mud pies instead! Which was just as fun! X3
