Girda may have worked hard to get so huge, but to say she didn't have the genes for it would be wrong.

Even when she was a little tyke, she often would clean off plates, sneak food, ask for seconds, and snatch handful of candies when it clearly said to "take one". Girda, with all her worldly knowledge, would often take her younger self out of the timeline and subject her to all kinds of spoiling and feederisims, and it shows in her rather bratty personality. That little pink bow on her head is her favorite.

Here we see her at the age of 8, being rounder than any little kid has business being and slurping down a nice, big, milkshake compliments of "Aunty". She kinda takes a sort of pride in being such a butterball, no doubt due to plenty of encouragement. She wants to grow up to be queen of the faeries, but has little interest in her older self's methods or ideas of magic.
