(god I love the old 2 Castlevania series, but the new 3D series that have all the Belmont's being the heroes and vampires simultaneously suck ass...

Well, I love both types! Sure, they may have been a bit too overambitious in LoS: MoF and LoS2 with all the references to the old Castlevania-timeline but it was another reason for me to enjoy it. I liked the references, the characters and the plot. But I can only say that LoS1 was a really great game, the others were lackluster in some ways (LoS2 being an open world, for example). But the settings were awesome!

The original 3D series of Castlevania were cool though, remember them for the Sega Saturn and Dreamcast?
The heroes villians and story were awesome, especially because the enemies were extra-deadly, the player never becomes an over-powered badass, and the gruesome deaths for the player, heroes, enemies, and villians were awesome for the primitive state of 3D graphics back then. But those games had too many puzzles, and too few weapons and items. Now that I think about it... I think the series might not have been made by Konami for all I know... even though they were all called Castlevania with either a word or number next to it...
Hmm... the Xbox and PC new 3D games I played and hated them all sadly. I loved AiraOfSorrow, DawnOfSorrow, OrderOfEcclesia, PortraitOfRuin, but the best that started my interest in the 2D games was primarily SymphonyOfTheNight, even though the SNES games clearly have been played by everyone. I played 1 of the 4 SNES Castlevanias by Konami.
