Since December of last year, I wanted to do something for my friend
silverzeo, but I just didn't have the time on my hands to do much of anything. Hence the reason why I haven't been too productive this year. And I remember one time, I asked him to draw me a picture of Megaman meeting one of his predecessors, in this case, 8-Man, Japan's oldest cyborg superhero who debuted decades before Megaman, and even before Casshern. 8-Man doesn't get much love or attention these days, but then again, neither does Megaman, which is sad. But I always wondered what it would be like if Megaman and 8-Man were to meet. And to return SilverZeo's kindness, I decided to colorize his little illustration as best as I could using Photoshop. Now, at first, I was unsure of which 8-Man to use for this image, as the cyborg superhero has had two personas as of 1993 with the release of 8-Man After. His first being Hachiro Azuma, and Hazama Itsuru being his successor. But for this pic, I decided it should be Hachiro Azuma since he's the true 8-Man (as Hazama Itsuru is technically 9-Man). Now, it took me forever to discover 8-Man's real color scheme since the original 60s show was only ever shown in black and white and never in color. But thanks to a few official images I found off the internet, I now know of his original color scheme, so I went with that. As for the story in this pic, SilverZeo told me that Megaman is engaged in yet another battle with Dr. Wily in one of his flying saucers. And as the Blue Bomber sustains damage and was losing, 8-Man comes to his rescue, and offers him his assistance. 8-Man stands his ground with Dr. Wily as he protects Megaman from further harm. I figured this could use some dialogue. So I did just that. SilverZeo, I hope you like this. And this is my expression of gratitude to you for staying with me all these years.
