just an idea for a mutant/monster i had. i was thinking these beast seek out people to absorb, in an effort to use them to increase its intelligence. once it reaches a certain amount of intelligence, it would stop absorbing people and would proceed to do whatever it was programmed to do. it prefers people, as they have the most intelligence out of the available lifeforms it can absorb, but i may sometimes absorb animals as well. the people absorbed would still be alive and conscious, and the monster might use them to lure loved ones to it so they too can be absorbed.

not sure if i'll finish this up, but at least i filled my horror quota for October...
