Lungaroux are one of 3 nations of a race, created by me and inhabiting my setting Mekiyah.

Lungaroux clans are multiple, but they lead secluded life deep in the woods and bear powerful connection with nature. Some believe that these creatures are personifications of the forest itself, due to their supernatural ability of controlling local flora and fauna.
...which is actually not true even though level and... peculiarities of their "natural skill" are sometimes terrifying! *cough* imagine pathogenic (and not only) fungi massively growing through a person *cough* a vivid and currently vetoed example of lungarian curse.

While living separately as a diaspora, they don't have any rivalry or feeling of rivalry towards any other race. Their secluded life in nature is mostly due to their inborn ability to "synchronize" with each other and their natural surroundings. When Lungaroux gets in the big city, they feel "blind and deaf", because of lack of this inner vision.
It is not similar to hivemind, but the connection to other lungaroux and the forest is special.
On Mekiyah they are widely-known, but their image in different parts of the world gained layers of rumors and myths. Somewhere they are feared, but in general, especially among other races of this specie, they are respected and famous for their healing abilities, deep knowledge of flora and fauna and supernatural skills.
Lungaroux have religion similar to a more peaceful side of voodoo and their beliefs in general are deeply animistic.
In one clan there is always a hierophant and up to 5 witches. All members of the clan are skillful healers, but witches and hierophant possess the highest abilities in "natural magic", when they can use forest and its inhabitats - be it plant or animal - for help.

Physical traits: height 140-180 cm (for men), weight is close to our human standards, but lungaroux have heavy bone.
They are omnivorous, they cook their food if it's meat, eggs, etc. Basically, everything edible that you can find in the forest is their diet. Aside from that, they often buy uncommon plants and herbs from merchants.
