I hate it. Because instead of focusing on making a powerful new gaming console and give people what they want, they continue to hit the same goddamn key "innovation". Except that shit made them bleed dry with a crappy system called nintendo ambulance siren and it will likely do the same fricking thing here. Not to mention that you likely will need batteries for each of the damn sides individually, and everything in between just like how much of a rip off the wii u was. Make a goddamn gamecube 2.0 and make games we want and stop with the damn gimmicks. That's how I feel it should go. But grandpa nintendo is old and outdated and doesn't seem to get it anymore. Miyamoto needs to stop jerking around :/. I don't want to see the console me and pretty much everyone grew up with die forever because he keeps making shit like this.

It seems like they have to be the super cool kids with the "most innovative/cool" shit instead of focusing in what the people really wants, powerful machines to run pretty, long, deep, awesome games for a relative afordable price.
They honestly expect people to take a, who knows, 400-600 buck console to the outside? Like, for real, that kind of stuff gets stolen if you run like an idiot in the subway or the airport with it, ffs.

The wii was alright at best, I didn't hate it. The problem is INNOVATION is not a bad thing but it has to be applied CORRECTLY. You know what sells well with innovation? Handhelds? You know what doesn't? Consoles. I mean for fuck's sake the sales alone on the wii vs ds and wii u vs 3ds should have fucking proven it to them! NOPE! Well I sincerely hope they don't die. Because they can't take another bleed. And like I said, I don't want them to die. Can you imagine if some third rate company bought the rights to Zelda or Metroid because the company went pfft like Sega did? Can you imagine a Sonic 06 Zelda/Metroid/Mario style? Did you miss the part were it was playing the HD Skyrim remake, which the xbox one and PS4 are going to be able to do? Or the part where it does that, but you can do it on the go, which is impossible for the other two? Forgive me if I'm wrong, but please, find another tablet gaming device that can run Skyrim for less than $600. Go right ahead, I'll wait.

Conjecture and guess-work. Nothing about the Wii U needed batteries, it was rechargeable. If you wanted to use a regular Wii controller, that needed batteries, but nothing in the box for the Wii U needed batteries. And I'd be willing to bet that the slides are chargeable too, though thats just as much conjecture as what you're claiming.

Cute. The quickest and most basic google search I could make reveals that nintendo's stocks have spiked since the reveal of their new system, meaning people are enjoying it, and Nintendo is likely going to make bank off it. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean the rest of the world doesn't.

They needed to make this console to compete with the ps4 and xbox 1. They NEEDED this to not die. Your argument is invalid. Keep the damn gimmicks on the handhelds where it sells when you do that and keep the consoles simple but powerful to compete with new technology that comes out because, lo and behold, gaming development is expansive. Especially when you have to conform to said gimmick in order to make a game. It makes ports terrible, it makes hardware weaker then what it could be if it didn't have to conform to these gimmicks and it makes it more expansive then it needs to be.

It could be because there was a lack of decent console exclusives on both platforms. Or maybe its because of people spouting misinformed opinions, like yours, and turning the gullible away. But, as displayed in the trailer, the Switch has a controller that mimics the layout of both the PS4 and XBOX One in that it has two joy sticks, a D-Pad, and four buttons, plus at least one trigger on each controller piece. Getting the porting on the controls will be exactly the same as porting the controls for xbox and PS34. And, on the topic of hardware, if you'd actually taken the time to pay attention instead of getting assmad over someone asking a question, you'd have read that the Switch can play Skyrim on the go. Which the PS4 and Xbox One can't do, even with their hardware.

The Wii U was still expensive at launch, though, just cheaper than their competition, and due to the game library of the other two compared to the Wii U, I'd say the value is about even. I can't expect them to make it cheaper than a Wii U based on past decisions of their console pricing. (They've never gone cheaper than the console before it) That would mean, at the very least, it would be 300 dollars to replace the entire thing if you accidentally crack the screen or worse (unless you can reliably get it fixed somewhere for cheaper). DSs on he other hand a very sturdy. I'll have to see more in the future to see how sturdy the screen is. They're pretty good at making a product that csn tske some damage, but this one worries me s bit.
And the Vita isn't exactly a successful handheld to really compare to (last I checked it was another failure), but I can't see it being cheaper, perhaps the same $300 price tag, but not cheaper. Its not really competition, anyway, Nintendo never has real handheld competition. Nintendo knows how to "influence" their consumers. They know that people will buy this for the novelty and because it's a cool idea, especially parents during Christmas. They know their business and they are good at it. Whether it's worth it or not in the end remains to be seen until after it's release. If Nintendo does anything right it's handhelds, so at least it might actually overshadow the Wii U and Wii (which were pretty subpar consoles imo). Only time will tell! I'm not disagreeing with you at all. I'm just saying that I firmly believe that the Switch will not be the most expensive portable system to replace. This isn't even considering the SNK handheld that was like $800 when it came out. In Germany the PSVita costed 500€ at launch because you had to get it with a simcard or some shady bullshit like that. If Nintendo were to launch it at that price in Germany close to nobody would buy it, just like close to nobody bought the PSVita. That's all I wanted to correct, whether or not a console is/was good or performed well is not of matter for that. Of course the both of us are just assuming here.
Going off that reply you made to Greif, if the entire thing (tablet, dock, Controller and it's pieces) comes out to $300, then replacing just the tablet wouldn't cost the full price of a new system. Maybe 150-200, with 150 being what I paid for my new 3ds XL if memory serves right.

I will say the vision of it and the idea behind Switch is a great one.
But I am still a little skeptical, primarily about the price and specs, of course also the battery life when you switch to portable.
I might get it depending on things, especially if there's multiple multi-platform games coming out on it, like Fallout 4 or Mafia III are.
That is only because Nintendo's exclusives, Mario, Zelda, Pokemon etc. Aren't really my cup of tea. 
Not sure if I should be happy to see a new controller or sad to see that Nintendo still isn't getting away from the handheld market even with their big consoles. Also as a kid I remember my favorite part of having a one system house was when your siblings wasn't home so you got the thing to yourself. Now they don't have to share. They can just take it with them. Also the screen on this thing seems like a Wii U tablet.
Hopefully from the preview they were showing new versions of game series that we like from Nintendo and not just old games to put something on the screens. If so then I'll likely be borrowing one of them from my friends to play the games.

The only thing I'm concerned about is whether or not 4+ player functionality when playing on the TV is back. I have 2 siblings and it will be sad to see one of them sit out on the fun.
Another thing is if gameplay like the Wii U is possible, meaning using the extra screen as a HUD while the TV acts as the game projection. For example: the maps in Splatoon and Pikmin 3, or the Battle Crad selection in Paper Mario Color Splash [(They really need to fix the mechanics in this. It's so frustratingly time consuming and repetitive to play your cards each turn. Other than that, I really enjoy the game.) Don't hate me Plz ;A;]

Fun the first weeks, then you go back on a true laptop which is more powerfull, have more memory, better battery and easier to use
