Breaker is my character Donut's adoptive father. Breaker had had feelings for Donut's mother since before she met her demon lover. Eventually the demon met his bonded partner and through no fault of his own (though Breaker and Magda would think differently) he left Magda to travel with his new companion.

Magda soon discovered she was pregnant but due to her broken heart, she dismissed Breaker's profession of love and chose instead to live on her own and raise Donut. She never discussed Donut's father with her, so she did not learn she was half demon until years later. Magda kept in contact with Breaker, trading the clothing she made in return for the supplies she needed to survive in the wasteland.

Magda finally came to Breaker for help after she collapsed in the desert one evening and didn't make it home to Donut. The child was left alone and frightened as feral demons prowled outside her home, and Magda swore to herself it would never happen again. Breaker loved Magda, and adopted Donut as his own, but his heart was broken a few years later when Magda died giving birth to their daughter, Runy.

Breaker still loved the two girls, but it hurt him too much to look after them, so they just faded into the background at the scrapyard where they lived, and Donut worked on raising herself and Runy with the help of Breaker's gang.

Breaker is not exactly a good person but he has a strong sense of morals - his scrapyard is kept in business by the fact that he and his gang work at raiding and exterminating the other raider gangs of the area. He does business with settlements such as Overton, who do not trust him but appreciates the protection that Breaker offers, and he is always fair in his prices.
