My sincerest hopes for the sequel are that they do make Nick & Judy a couple, but don't make it a plot point. Just something they don't dwell on, maybe joke about at the station or to their neighbors but don't otherwise confirm or deny, don't fret what it means to be a couple and just do whatever feels right.
And I hope and pray to Jesus-on-a-Buddha that can include scenes like this.
