I was lucky enough to receive a lesser gryph as a gift from  balorkin, which sports the same inverted snow leopard markings as my darling demon Senzam does. I absolutely adore my gryph, Cassandra is her name, and yesterday I sketched a picture of her. I should mention that it was done without reference, relying only on my poor memory, so I'm very aware that my picture has used rather a lot of artistic freedom. I hope Balorkin won't mind, though!

On a side note, I rarely use water colour pencils on white paper these days, mostly because I find it such an unforgiving material to work on. I was despairing with the silvery markings on Cassandra, as the blackness of the coat all but made them vanish. I salvaged what I could, but I'm not entirely happy with the results. Nevertheless, as I wanted to colour the sketch, I didn't have much choice on the paper colour, given that I don't lug my entire collection of art supplies to college every day.
