There was an eldery man, who loved Halloween, a lot. He would scare children of all ages, of all sizes. He told me to watch the door while he went around back. Out of curiosity, a few minutes later I went back there to see what he was up to.
Jack o' Lanterns, cut in cute faces and friendly warm smiles, ablaze. Fire pouring out of their mouths, and eyes, as he danced, paperbag on his head, bathed in the hellfire glow of them. You could see his smile, but his eyes seemed to have been lost in the shadows.
His frail silhouette barely lit up by the flaming pumpkins as he spun in rhythm, so swiftly, faster than an old man should. What was not lit up, was swallowed by the thick darkness that surrounded him.
Now...if you saw this in a dream, what would you do?
