With a tree in bloom, and flowers in their hair, two aspiring artisan warriors duel in an epic and sustainable battle of trowel vs hoe to determine which implement will best serve a garden that grows in the soil of knowledge.
Its definetly not done yet, but I just wanted to put it up to let Eleke know that I hadn't forgotten about it. I actually drew it to this state about 5 weeks ago, but I didn't want to post it to make anything feel rushed and I haven't done anything to it since then. Let me know what you think . Ask me questions (i.e what the heck is that supposed to be, or what does that mean). Criticize, you name it. I appreciate all types of thoughtful constructive feedback.
I really hope you like it though. I had alot of fun making it ^_^ Thank you so much for the inspiration and I promise to finish it sometime soon.

If you do want crits I feel like the composition needs a little bit more framing to keep the eye in the piece, and maybe some attention to perspective, maybe have the book heading back in one point, so it's right in between the two figures and doesn't just sort of block the flow
that said I think this is a really strong and successful design, well done

Thanks. I definetly want crits. Though fluffy comments can be invaluable to the inspirational process, constructive criticism from someone with experience is far more useful in the long run (given that you, the artist, are in the frame of mind to put it to good use).
I appreciate your advice. If I ever get back to the drawing I would love to implement it. I feel like I could learn alot about how to use backgrounds effectively.
