I admit I remember seeing shows and cartoons like that. I don't dislike Christianity, but these things were really...odd. And a tad boring.

It is very much an American Christian thing. Also, A&H has been updating on Rick's personal site.

Growing up in a heavily southern Baptist family, I have been in that kid's shoes. The christian kids shows always confused me with their heavy handedness, even when I was a child.

Damn, that is messed up for the kid to be given such an experience; i should know since i've been in a catholic private school for 3 years , , , it was not fun in the slightest.
In turn it made me an atheist - i could write about it but it would be a lot of detail.

Probably not this specific show, but shows like it.

Yes, advertising to children is real, be it religion or purchasable goods. They are drowning in it almost 24/7. I know Europe is very much against that sort of thing.

Technically, ANYTHING you introduce a child to is influencing them. ANYTHING. Claiming one sort is better or worst than another is really sorta ignoring that fact, because ultimately an adult is going to create an environment that steers the child to their line of thinking regardless of who that adult is or what their personal life philosophy are. There's not such thing as growing up in a message free environment.

*sigh* Pushing religions onto kids. Radical approach to faith is never a good idea, no matter what religion or belief system you subscribe to.

Kinda reminds me of those anime Bible shows I saw as a kid: Superbook and The Flying House.

I remember those back in the mid eighties. They were on early in the morning and I seem to remember them being followed by Jimmy Swaggart or the 700 Club. Growing up in a non-religious household, these shows were kind of an ironic inoculation against religion; kind of hard to take something seriously when it's represented by silliness. Of course, I was also $aved by Fundamentally Oral Bill.

Okay, I finally read the rest of this issue. And I couldn't understand until the end. Poor baby doesn't understand what he just watched. Know the feeling… I was way too young to see many films that I love now. Still, I can't believe that they actually showed that on a baby kids' show, let alone with puppets. It shows that he's actually quite an intellegent little kid. Too bad he can't talk yet.

Also, I think you got the puppets mixed up (although that may be because they shared species).
