*Cue hype music to Bandits Breakdown Intro sequence*
Hiddson: Hello and welcome to another Bandits Breakdown, your one stop for all things Las Vegas Bandits! Brett Hiddson along with Terrence Thursday. Terry, The Bandits suffering their first 3 game losing streak for the first time since two seasons ago has fans in a bit of restlessness if not in a panic.
Thursday: Rightfully so. A losing streak harks back to those days where the Bandits weren't a playoff team and the fan base expects better of them. What's worse it could extend with a tough game at the California Dons.
Hiddson: And the Dons, nor any team are going to start feeling sorry for the Bandits. But with Sylvester Stapler's return comes a chance to right the ship.
*cue highlights*
Hiddson: On to the game and it's the first time that Raleigh Cooper cant make an appearance suffering a broken nose in the last game. Having Anders Tuttle be one of the few furs to play both kicker and punter in the same game. Meanwhile 3rd and 4 for the Dons, trying to get down field. But Kelly Rowe has other ideas with a big hit and a fumble to a rushing Darnell Paige. Justin Brown recovers it for the Bandits!
Thursday: Just when you think it was safe to get by for a first down, Paige let his guard down for a split-second. Giving Kelley Rowe, more than enough time to square a hit on the ball and jar it loose!
Hiddson: And turning to the other Paige, Terry Paige powers his way through for the 10 yard touchdown. Bandits up 7-0. Later in the first quarter, Dons trying to start a drive from the 20...
KLVB Radio Announcer: 1st and 10 from their 20, Dons trying to respond to the Bandits earlier score... Paige drops back to pass looking for Darren Stephens on the cur- -Picked off! Dudley Doleman intercepts the pass and has a running start from jumping the route! Diving for the end zone! Touchdown Bandits!
Hiddson: Thanks again from our friends at KLVB radio! A 26-yard pick six for the seal, Terry.
Thursday: The Defense continuing to make plays for the team this time getting a score of their own to increase the gap, nice job by Doleman in the area to follow the QB's eyes and get under the curl route as Paige threw it.
Hiddson: Darnell Paige already responsible for two turnovers trying to avoid a third now...
KLVB Radio: 1st and 15 after the penalty, just nightmare start for the Dons faithful. Paige drops back to pass, pressure from the lineman, looking for Vorce-- Intercepted again! Lewis Groetzer with an interception and three turnovers in the first quarter by Darnell Paige.
Hiddson: Another pick for Paige leading to Stapler running it in for the score soon after. 21-0 Bandits. Just a flawless display by the Bandits D.
Thursday: You're right, Brett. When a defense like Las Vegas gets a groove going like this, tough times will be ahead for many offensive coordinators.
Hiddson: Second quarter and the Bandits with a drive of their own. And this Staplers pass is picked off!Not a good idea to run flats today and Feng takes it all the way back for a 56-yard pick six. Stapler wishing he had that one back. 21-7 Bandits. Later in the quarter Dons Looking to start another drive but...
KLVB Radio: 1st and 10 for the Dons Paige to pass looking for Mylene Jean and Intercepted Again! This time its Marcus Hopper getting the pick and taken down by Paige after returning it for 17 yards. Bandits in great field position here!
Hiddson: And with a 9 yard run by Stapler and a 2 yard run from Terry Paige. 28-7 Bandits. They would extend the lead further thanks to Anders Tuttle stepping in for Cooper. 31-7 at the half. No scores in the 3rd so on to the 4th quarter. Dons with the ball soon after another field goal by Tuttle and Darnell is picked off once again! Corey Lewis and he takes it all the way to the house for the touchdown! Dons would only get another touchdown in garbage time. Your Final 41-14 Bandits Win!
Thursday: A near complete game from the Bandits as the defense finally looked like the defense that can take on anyone in the league forcing 5 turnovers. While the offense was sound running the football, Stapler will need some work to do to be that elite presence behind the center.
Hiddson: Above all though Terry, is the Bandits improve to 4-4 and still can catch up with the leaders of the conference. And with that we'll take a short break but when we return. Postgame pressers and interviews and an outlook of the next game against the Texas Ramblers!
