A Fine Bad Day Comic
I can tell you straight up that I had these kinds of things happen to me in one day ( no fooling ): Raining outside, spoiled milk, late for work, cutback on hours, no money for food, broken umbrella, exploding soup can ( yes, if you open it hard enough, they explode ) and a toothache. However, at the end of almost every night, the best feeling in the world to anyone is laying under their covers and holding their stuff animal close to them. You get that brief moment of peace and tranquility when you snuggle to something or someone important to you. You close your eyes, feel the blankets press against you , the warmth of your body trapped under the sheets and your arms wrapped up against something that comforts you and eases your pain and anguish.
Having a stuff animal is not a bad thing at all. It is an object that you use to vent your negative emotional and spiritual energy into and it cleanses itself ( much like a gemstone ). It replaces your negative energy with good energy that you feed off of whenever you hug it or rub it or sniff it. It makes you feel calm and relaxed. Plus, it makes you feel that you are not alone.
Stuff animals are not for everyone. Everyone has his or her own tool or device that they use to drain his or her body from negative energy. Stress balls, Yoga, video games, punching bag, drawing, etc. Everyone has their own way to vent. Some have more ways and/or tools that they use if they can't do one or the other.
Discuss? What are your thoughts? What do you use to drain your body form negative feelings and emotions? Do you yourself have a stuff animal, or have something else that you treasure and use to feel more relaxed? ( Be appropriate, please... )

A bad day for me usually results in a drive somewhere in the car, to somewhere random that i've never been before, to see stuff I haven't seen.
Barring the time to do that, I actually do have a stuffed animal that lives on my bed that was given to me around the holidays, a stuffed deer, that I have named Deeah. Yes, the "ah" at the end is indicative of the local accent XD
Usually Deeah hangs out atop a dogbone looking pillow next to me that was my grandmother's, and sometimes i'll talk to Deeah because, well...he's such a good listener.
Somewhat odd, I know, but it is what it is =D

I have the ugliest stuft possum in the world, he's so ugly he's cute. I love my darling Cooper. He's given me so many times of just forgetting all the bad that's happening.
I guess I do vent my negative energy to him, I can't just use any doll either, Some dolls don't make me comfortable at all.

uhg... I think everyone has days like that - especially the soup and tooth pain *shakes fist at soup cans* but i think most of those days do end with calmness: i find it pretty difficult to be snuggled up nice and warm and comfy and still be angry or upset with the world. I guess i do a lot of things to vent: long showers/baths, talking to friends, dancing erratically lip-sinc-ing to songs, doing artsy things... If all else fails i just go outside with sword or staff and beat the air until i feel better.
I think, technically, the comic works well too - a good balance of dark and light shading in the back ground and not cluttered up by too much in the background. The angles for the money-less and work hours cut panels work well getting the other characters in without distracting from the focus. The size of the panels is pretty good too not too small to loose the detail - the first and final frames being larger works well to introduce and close the story ^^ I'm sure there is more i'll think of to say later ^^; good job!

Excellent submission once again!!
We've allways had pets, dogs, cats, hamsters at one stage, and normally when I had those sorts of days nothing beat coming home to a puppy/dog wagging his/her tail at you,all of those bad feelings and hatred just washes away in a instant, even at night the cats would cuddle up next to you,and it really does make a world of a difference, the worst the day you had the harder they will try and make it better, guess thats probably why I never got use to stuffed animals, with the pets always being there...
Only problem is I stay in a flat now and they have 1 rule, no pets :(

Very nice comic, one I can identify with at several points. I never kept any pets for myself personally or had any stuffed animals or really anything that you could call a substitute. I just tended to just suck it up for the day, go to sleep and wait for the next day to arrive. In later years, I would simply drink myself into oblivion, which didn't turn out very well.
I've totally had days like this D:
I usually draw to vent my frusteration. Its amazing how someof my best drawings have come from me feeling upset. =3
I also have stuffed animals because I love them! I have a Tiger, 2 Teddy bears, a Pony and a Puppy that I usually snuggle with. The More the merrier, you know. =3

Btw, I do have many ways of relaxing myself, the main one is snugging my pillow when I go to bed. It's like huging a giant plush toy. Plus, I have a lot of plushies to hug and cuddle whenever I want. Also, it's nice to take care of one's pet when someone is feeling blue, I do believe in pet therapy. ^^
Being a musician, I have music to help me out with my stress. Whether I'm just listening to it or actually playing, or singing, a song. Playing the bass, upright or electric, can be especially therapeutic, at least for me, because it's an instrument that can require a lot of stamina.
As far as what kind of music I listen to, it can be very widespread. I could be listening to Classical/Celtic one minute and then Hard Rock the next. But very often I listen to Jazz.
Great job on this comic.
It's good to know that we can find at least a little peace in some way, shape, or form.

There's an old abandoned marble quarry right outside my town
the remains of the charter house are where i can be found
it only has 3 walls and no roof that remains
but something about that place calms my brain.
I go at night and light a fire in the ruin's huge fireplace
looking up at the stars with the fire in my face
im not sure why its soothing but that it is indeed
and thats why its the place i go whenever im in need...
of comfort.
You can see the ruins here... its nothing special, but somehow it is.

This has a beauty that shows through the bad day.
It also reminds me of the song Thank You. The words holds a deep meaning that fits with this comic page.

1. I know it's not funny but I love the moth that flew out of the wallet (please forgive me I laughed)
2. Like the exploding can, here's something that happened to me that seems impossible: I literally broke my tooth eating mashed potatoes.
3. I don't have any stuffed animals but if I have a rough day I take a nice long hot shower. It makes me feel like all my pores are clogged with negativity and when I take the hot shower my pores open up and release the negativity and it all just goes down the drain
BTW, I could have all of the things that happened to you happen to me but if my umbrella broke on top of all that, it's time to start killing people.

And on the top of it her teeth hurt... It almost makes me shed a tear, there is no end to all the cruel fates that wearies her this day. It is also an interesting thought you have about a personal item or activity that relieves bad tensions.
I wonder if I have anything like that. The first thing that comes to mind would be walking in the woods with a good friend, just talking about something, slowly feeling the self esteem flow back.
back when I did drugs, smoking marajuana would also give me a mellow, relaxed motion, neutralizing most bad impluses.

Ugh, days where every little thing tries to go wrong for you. D:
I have a huge shark body pillow that Ive taken to cuddling up to.. I cant sleep if Im not holding something, and with my master being so far away, and missing him.. Ive slowly upped the size of what Im snuggling to something human sized. :P
Imo theres nothing like a comfortable bed and something soft to snuggle to make even the worst day feel a little better... and if that fails, break out the ramen noodles and energy drinks and put on a good movie.

Right now I need to find a job just so I can catch up to her.. but I am already well ahead on my collection of teddybears.

I was going to post this yesterday morning, but FA's scheduled maintenance kicked in as I hit 'post':
Hmm...relaxing, soothing object or item...
...(looks at his avatar) yeah, that's it
In line with my primary hobby, I have a track set up around my living room for testing new acquisitions (where the footage I shot that appears in the avatar). Sometimes I sit back on the couch and just let them cruise around the room, and that does the trick.

I'm surprised more here don't share the plushie experience. For me it's vital, and yes that time when you creep into bed and draw that plushie close to you and curl up under the covers.. Oh my. It's magical, and it's not even a person substitute, it's not the same thing at all when snuggling up to a person :) . I freely admit I can't sleep, can't settle down without it, I take a plush on a long distance flight for that very reason. If ever there's absolutely no way I can get a plushie (once stayed with a dog who destroys them), I have to hug a pillow instead >.>
The sun, when I'm in the right mood and i walk outside the fire of somethign so vast and powerful radiating, giving this earth life just invigorates me
My music. When I'm just depressed or feeling sick in the head [which is alot] I turn to my tunes to cradle my mind asleep, seethe when i'm flustered, sympathize with my sadness, take me off to one of my fantasy lands, or just act like a carriage to carry the burden of thinking when I'm too worn to do so though sadly i feel like i get a dependency on my music, like a crutch.
