It might but, if she achieves Delphox form, her psychic capabilities would render a good portion of her "disability" moot

I could've swore I've seen Ty draw Amber as a braxien and she is deaf when she evolved to stage two. But yeah, psychic abilities as a delphox would make being deaf nil. In fact I would theorize she could borrow her trainer's sense perception of hearing and "hear" things as they are for the first time. Tears of joy as she could "hear" stuff aside from the clickers.

Or maybe she can just learn the move Psychic and that will make everything easy.

And thus proving even with such a handicap you can still be just as good as any other Pokemon

Probably could teach a form of morse code to where certain click sequences mean do specific things.

As I already said to another person who suggested this, they are only simple click earrings, they do not make different wide ranges of different feels and gestures. Also to decode Morse code takes 50 times longer than just "look at the flash card"

I've actually wondered, wouldn't the opposing Pokemon and/or their trainer be able to see the flash card and therefore know what move Amber is going to use next?

That is no different from hearing the Trainer giving the command verbally.

Unless of course they gave the command in a language the opposing player couldn't understand.

Language barriers do not exist in the game.

Anime is irrelevant. This comic is based on the original video games.

Not thinking of passing complex messages, short sequences indicating which flash card to "look at", with just using 3 left / right ear combos, you get 9, err, (golly hate to say it like this), preprogrammed moves. With practice, Amber could become a serious contender.

P.S. could also add a double ear click to signal end of command so you could extend it to 4 click sequences.

Amber is an animal, not an elite special ops agent. You can't teach this kind of thing to an animal like that.
You have to bond with a Pokémon the natural way. Don't be like the villain groups appearing in the games who try to brainwash Pokémon into weapon tools like this.

they did something like that in Pokken Tornament, or better, it more like a sort of mental-link / mind -control, but details
