Today marks the 50th anniversary of one of my all-time favorite Halloween specials, "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" from 1966! So here's the Big Bad Wolf posing with two of Disney/Vista Records' tie-in audio adaptations of the special from 1978: the "Charlie Brown Records" Storyteller LP record (with 12-page gatefold booklet), and the read-along book-and-audio adaptation (on cassette).
Too bad ABC isn't doing anything special in honor of the occasion. The Great Pumpkin now just plays second fiddle to Pixar's "Toy Story of Terror," which now seems to be ABC's favorite animated Halloween special and the main attraction, while "Great Pumpkin" is chopped up and edited, so "Toy Story of Terror" can always play uncut every time. (Of course, Disney owns ABC, which would explain it.)
