I wad hoping the data mining was just old data. All the final evolutions look really dreadful, except for poplio's which is kinda cute but still not very exciting or inventive. I'm feeling pretty disappointed with a lot of the Pokemon this time - like how ugly most of the alola forms are...

I don't actually have that much against most of the alola forms. A lot of them are creative and some are gorgeus. Just not Persian and Raticate for example. I was kinda hoping that the rumor of all starters having two final evolutions was true... similar to what Lycanroc has.
Have you seen the ones for persian, diglett, and geodude lines? They're pretty awful... They're creative, but I don't think they're good. half the forms look like trash to me, and I know most people've been pretty disappointed with them. I have fallen in love with the version of final evolutions and alolan forms, so it's a bummer that the official ones are nowhere near as good.
I was hoping for the two final evo forms, too! That would have been a really cool and unique way to integrate the whole sun and moon thing
