Where did you manage to find that? And if you don't mind my asking, about how much did it cost to acquire?

There are a number of shops in Beijing that restore them and ship them to you anywhere in the world. Price starts around 4k for a decent restoration with sidecar, plus whatever options you want to put into it. They will do nice shiny chromed swankmobiles, ugly military versions, singles without sidecar, whatever you want. This particular one has the OHV engine, all the military gear, hitch and trailer, extra lights, extra brakes, gearshift levers on the side of the tank, etc. All said is just under 6k including shipping.

Only 6K? Wow. I was honestly thinking 15K and up... maybe even 50K for something like that. 6K is by comparison "dirt cheap". Still a very beautiful machine. That thing just has style.

If I ever get a motorcycle (and learn to drive one), I don't want one of those glossy, modern looking bikes, but a 1940s style bike that looks like a simple piece of solid engineering.

I got a Yugo M53 parts kit (Yugo copy of the MG42 in 8mm) lying in a closet right not that would just look awesome on that sidecar (once I get the time to put it together).
