Not really a story, but a little bit of writing about my new character, Rosie. Hey, it's the first thing I've submitted in three years, we'll ease in slowly.

The Thursday Prompt was Expression.

Who am I? That is the single question we all want answered. I am more than just a ball of fur, or ears and tail. My species does not define me. Nor am I all teeth and claws, a carnivorous killing machine. I know what I am not, what others have made me out to be. But the question remains: If I am not that, what am I?

I am Strawberry. Bubbles. Squeak. All names I have tried, none suit me. I wear Rosie now, it suits me in my present mood. Perhaps later I will cast it off, as Juliet urged her lover to do. After all, "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet," and I am a rose, and thus Rosie.

I am confident, bubbly, and fun. I wear what I like, and I like to look sexy. I like my hair over one eye - that's how I wear it.

I don't care what you think - I will wear what I like, be what I like. Because, when I'm Rosie, I AM Rosie. Another mask of my true self.
