It was a bright night, under the full moon when Girda wandered into a destroyed village to meet with a client who struggled with lycanthropy. The place was completely destroyed, walls were torn down, massive clawmarks ripped though most of the soft surfaces, skeletons littered the place, some with armor and weapons, some without...
As she proceeded to waddle in further, she managed to find a large looking skeleton with pale bones that glisten in the moonlight, blades and arrows seemed to be stuck in it, and looked to be that of a large human-canine mix. Perhaps the most interesting of everything there, was an odd, silverish wolf's paw that lay at its feet...
Girda took it upon herself to examine it. It was of an odd material, and looked like it was designed to hold some kind of curse or charm... that's when she noticed that her belly was swelling. She dropped the artifact as a sharp pain ran through her, her body widening rapidly and her nails growing. Hair started to spout from her bare flesh as new teeth force their way though her maw. Her body kept going, packing on new layers of fat to complement the changes her skeleton was going through, her cheeks especially got quite chunky. Her eyes got blurry as they adjust themselves for the night, yellowing as her pupils grow into slits. Her shoulders tear through her favorite robe as she started feeling something new... a primal pleasure in the feeling of these changes ripping through her.
She grew and grew, tearing through her favorite robe, her tail growing longer and fluffier, her skin now covered in a thick, thick layer of fur, her hands now capped with large, sharp claws.... She looked over her new broader, fluffier self, rubbing a claw into her thick middle. She licked over her new sharp, ripping teeth as primal hunger raged in her belly.
She could get used to this~
A werehippo (Werewolf hippo? Wolf hippo?) was just one of the best things I never realized that I needed. So yea, thanks to that wolf's paw, Girda's now a semi-permanent Lycanthope! Thanks again to

I mever knew I wanted this, but I'm glad this exists, girthy werewolf + hippogals? Awesome. Especially of Gird; that hanging gut, waggling tail over that big butt with a hungry lick is perfect for both a mage and Halloween! I hope we see this side of her again.

I know, it's amazing, isn't it? Wonkalicious was offering Halloween pre-mades and when I saw the werewolf one, I had an idea spark in my minds of Girda being a massive, furry beast.
And I'm glad ya like it! I know I loved it so much I've made Girda's lycanthropy canonical, so expect to see more of her soon!

Well, the way I see it, she can use the paw to go lycanthropic whenever she wants if she channels energy though it, as such she always keeps it on her. She can also turn at any time during a full moon. What's particularly interesting is that that she can afflict herself within the full spectrum of lycanthropy if she wishes, like she can bee a full werewolf or full hippo, but she can also grow her claws briefly, change her eyes or teeth at will, grow a thick fur coat, make her sense of smell more acute, or even gain that somewhat growly voice she has when she's transformed.
Well, the way I see it, she can use the paw to go lycanthropic whenever she wants if she channels energy though it, as such she always keeps it on her. The idea that one has control over this power and enjoys every moment of it has so many possibilities from a character standpoint, and it's such a change from the "woe is me, I can turn into a kickass monster but I'm so tormented" trope we always see.
I always like the idea of taking common tropes and applying them in unique situations.
