I painted this a in February for the Furry Fiesta art show, and have just now finally gotten a successful photo of it (well, as successful as you can get with your phone). .
I painted this in 5 days, and this is the first time I felt "fluent" with acrylics. A big part was that my boyfriend gave me a gift card and insisted I bought something other than beginner's paints- and then the salesman told me to never use black to darken, which I hadn't known before. It certainly paid off, both the paints and the advice.
20x30 inches, Acrylics.
For sale if anyone is interested.

well all my originals are always 11 x17 some people seem delighted to see them -
but for whatever reason - sometimes are not interested in owning them -
a piece like you've done here is dynamic and tasteful,
and you could hang iton yer wall (my work consists mostly of
naughty aduly pron) *laughs.

the image is very beautifull ( yea... there's news for you... )
anyways... the dragon's anatomy is very nice... I really like the way you made his back arch like that... I alwasy had ishues with making bendy dragons... always a problem making them look natural in the way they bend... but you got that spot on.
The pose is also very nice and dynamic... The colores are nice and unitary...
My one critique would be on the dragon's wingweb on the wing closest to the viewer...
That line of scales on top looks as though it bbelongs to the dragon's spine... and the wingweb looks as though it connects to the very tip of the spine... now in my opinion that looks a bit off... I would expect the wingweb to conect to the body lower... but that's just me... I just find that the wingweb is a bit too neatly delimited from the rest of his body.
I really like the structure of his head with all those nice horns and protrusions... and his expression is really lovelly.
And the misty efect of the background really adds to the mood of the picture. All in all, a wonderfull piece... keep up the artwork...
