The Capriseel

A very strange yet fascinating species, Capriseels are one of the few wonders of Val-quaris, a mysterious being that dwells in the oceans in great numbers. These creatures though generally seen as small seal-like mammals are in fact a very intelligent and cultural race that of which have built societies deep under reefs & within caves, capable of crafting various inventions & trinkets from their terrain. They are often a shy race that avoids contact with other beings, though there are a few societies who regulate trade and sale with races further inland, though often have to go through rivers in order to reach such locations. They're not suited to land, and are incapable of staying on it for an extended period of time,thus must always remain within the rivers & lakes they migrate themselves to until circumstances are favorable enough for them to make their way back to the oceans safely.

-Most often found in rocky oceans, coral reefs and possibly deep-sea terrains, though these are far less commonly seen.

-Can easily adjust to fresh waters.(Lakes,Rivers,etc)

- Males are larger then females

- Horns grow on both genders

-They are very docile in nature,but can be quite aggressive during the mating season.

-A Capriseel's color is often dependant on their surrounding terrains. colorful reefs equal colorful and vibrant Capriseel, and deep sea darkness can lead luminescence on deep dark colors.
