The fire crackled between the two as Caspian stared in horror at Heartsong. For her part, she was smiling and chewing slowly on the latest smore she had cooked.
"T-T-That really happened?" He asked.
"Yup!"
"Th-Then that poor guy..."
"Nope, he's fine."
"But you ate him!"
"I scared him, just a little. It's a bit unfortunate that I looked so monstrous on that world but I was busy trying to help gift the guy with a refurbished theatre. His grandfather is/was a lovely gentlemen when I last visited. I just forgot to carry the four when it came to measurements in that reality, hence the uh, protruding bone and everything."
"..." Caspian chewed on a marshmallow.
"Oh come on, you know me Caspian sweetie. I'm not that scary~" Giggling, she then leaned forward and stared into the fire. "Then again, I suppose it's only natural to be scared of things that bump around at night."
As the goat looked on, he noticed that the moon had come out from behind a bank of clouds. As he stared up at the tree line, two pairs of giant glowing eyes suddenly appeared, and he let out a bleat of surprise. Hearing this, Heartsong looked up.
"Hmm?" She smiled, but this time it was...wrong. "Oh, I guess my new friends are here. Want me to introduce them?"
As the pair of eyes grew larger and taller, Caspian began to feel that he was in deep, deep trouble. "H-H-H-Heart...I...?"
"Shhhh...." The glowing-eyed Goddess shushed. "Don't worry, they're just like me. You'll be happy soon, I promise! I promise..."
