I will be honest, I was kinda surprised by South's very early appearance in this story, but given how most of the events of standard RvB canon are probably rendered nonsensical in this chupaverse (and to hide Tex's big appearance... when it finally happens.) I can understand your decision to shoe in the Reconstruction season early into the story.

Also, this makes the implementation of the iconic "... of all time." gag difficult to come into play, since that first started with a most skilled grenade throw by our dear bell-baby trying to take out south.

I do admire your courage and ability to change-rails to a new, special story line, rather than follow typical RvB canon, a ballsy move that sometimes failed in other works (but has succeeded very well here and made the story fresh and new!) and as a recent follower of this series, I still probably have much to learn on the ideas and secrets of everyone in and around this awesome comic!

And thanks! Y'know, a straight re-telling of RvB with chupas would've gotten stale pretty quickly, I think. With so many seasons (14 now) of canon on the deck it would be pretty tiresome to re-hash, even with the novelty of new visuals. I've always enjoyed writing my own plots (full of references and nods, of course), so this way it stays fresh and fun for me, and hopefully for everyone else.
