This is the original drawing of Ol' Steadfast that was seen on the Big Ol' Batch. I decided to keep him since I wanted to do some more development with him.
When he was young, he was given the name Barnaby and he had 20/20 vision. However, one day, a farmer and his fiancee found him when he didn't have much of a home to live in. Grateful, Barnaby lived with the farmer and helped him with jobs around the farm. When Barnaby grew older, the farmer and fiancee wound up having an encounter with dangerous snakes. Barnaby did what was right and tried hard to fight the snake away. Before the snake was taken down, it spit its venom in Barnaby's eyes, blinding him. Not letting his vision problem stop him, he continue to press on, until the snake was weak. The farmer and fiancee were so relieved and thankful for being rescued that they nursed most of his wounds. They couldn't fix his eyes, but Barnaby didn't mind. He was still healthy, and could sense whether he was around those who are good hearted or those who are bad hearted. The farmer appreciating Barnaby's loyalty blessed him with the nickname "Ol' Steadfast." Ol' Steadfast still helps out whenever he can, with a new unique sense, and a keen ability to tell where people are, despite being blind.
Ol' Steadfast belongs to and is created by me.
