We were in the Santa Rita room of the student union, a good sized space with a nice wooden floor, no complaints there!
This was the first outing with the square truss and the new stands, and they worked perfectly. The stands and truss were ratcheted down to the top of Corby's SUV for the trip and didn't fall off. :)
We had a really wide setup under the truss, one folding table that we brought with Zain's DJ stuff on, and Sark brought his own table, so there was no need to play one at a time. Rheld had the idea of setting up one more table (UT had provided a pair) on the left, running from the truss stand to the wall, blocking off people walking behind the setup and potentially tripping over wires. Great idea and it worked!
The lighting setup has the rollers on the ends, then (working inwards and symmetrical) the big wash moving heads, hex pars, then the mini moving heads in the center. I think if I did it again I'd bring the LED bars to run across the front as a unifying feature...or get all four mini movers working and use them. It'd make it look less 'busy'.
Oh! There were also the little truss warmers shooting along the inside of the truss, making it look super beautiful. <3 <3 I love those!
The two slim T39 subs were in the corner, running off their own amp (XTi 2000) and we used the SLA tops running off the XLS1500. I don't think we were hurting for output of course! The guys next door were nice and didn't ask us to turn it down.
