One thing that terrified me, and still does quite frankly, is attempting to draw a full body character. I was terrible with anatomy, I knew nothing of musculature... I had no starting point.
So I decided to study. Over the course of a week I poured over videos, in game screenshots, anatomy references... Anything I could find to give me the keys to simplify the process. I ended up with a "simple" construction skeleton for charr that wasn't entirely accurate, decent working knowledge of the underlying muscles to add to it, and then a vague idea of what I wanted for line work.
After all the time I invested, this was my first attempt at a full figure drawing of my male charr. Viewed straight on in a boring pose that I was able to directly reference from a screenshot. Far from perfect, but I was very happy with the progress. At least I had the first few babby steps into the world of full bodies.
