Regular smeargles in original Gold and Silver where this color and the shinies were green~

Heh, cute observation! Though yeah, this is obviously using the later game reiteratons of the shiny.

Technically shiny smeargles are more of a magenta-y color in the paint area (though at least the anime and one of the console games played with the idea that smeargle paint can be other colors, so for this character I just picked purple)

In any case, the "shiny" moniker is also for the skintone, as it's a more yellowish beige as opposed to the more greyish ones of recent art, though at this point it's purely a personal nitpick and nothing anyone else should fret over but me :P

Oh, pfft, the variety of paint colors is canon in the games too i believe~
They just dont show it. I really wish they would it a thing though, at least something like furfrou where you can change it. Xp

Its moslty because the character Ive had has been a plain original smeargle from the beginning, for one...art Pokemon, and two, red's my fave color ever. X3

That one is probably just body paint rather than anything permanent but a part of me is tempted to consider designing new inks for Flo sometime :V

I see Flo as very fluid and, aside from her back badge, abuses the heck out of henna and body paint. Just in case she wants to change something.
