The Prestige is one of my favorite movies. :) (even if there are a few historical inconsistencies about Tesla's lab here in the Springs.

Spider Robinson, writer of such books as Callahan's Crosstime Saloon and Lady Slings the Booze, has Tesla in it as a character. Good author and his website has photos of the free energy tower that Tesla had built.
Tesla was definitely a discoverer, not just an inventor. His like will never be known again.
If his works had succeeded back when he was alive, he would have changed the entire world. But because of a few jealous and selfish people (such as Edison), this man's work did not get the recognition it deserved when it should have.
Then his works and lab get destroyed by a fire (I'd say it was arson, couldn't have been an accident), then later on the FBI confiscate everything of his (after his death, I think) and make it classified. Why? If he was just an ordinary person, there'd have been no reason for them to do such.
But he came up with things no one else had back then. And some of it could have been used as a weapon (he did invent a certain weapon, if I recall).

That was the best moment. Someone in my showing gasped when he appeared like that, and there was muttered 'is that BOWIE's here and there.

This movie doesn't get enough love, Bowie or not. :}
