My little slave trader <3
He's a slightly altered version of the 5e Hengeyokai race.
He has an odd, warped sense of freedom and anti-karma that he uses to justify all his actions. He is, by definition, a sociopath and has trouble feeling any sort of empathy for others. His lack of understanding the concept of other minds leads to his anti-karmic ideals; every memory he has of somebody wronging him gives him the freedom to wrong somebody else while every time somebody does him good, he feels he needs to also commit a good deed (regardless of who the good deed is committed to). He has an odd sense of duty towards this code and will perform the good or bad deed with little to no emotion.
In combat he utilizes the whip quite well, however he was enthralled by the art of skirmishing and took to developing a fighting style centered around spear-throwing. Instead of using a mass of light javelins he opts for a few heavy, high-impact spears which he keeps in a sling on his back. His breed of race is known for their short body and slim frame, despite his surprising strength his muscles lack any bulk. Kojiro uses this to his advantage as he's usually underestimated in battle.
Kojiro spent his entire life in slavery, mercilessly abused throughout his childhood at the hands of a small-time slave holder. This abuse cost him the sight of his left eye and left him extremely maladjusted socially. At the age of 11 he was sold to a large slave depot in a large town. He blended into the background in the makeshift hovels of the depot until he was released by his owner at the age of 15 for backstabbing a large group of slaves, foiling their attempts at escape.
Using his newfound freedom he studied math, reading, writing, and philosophy which resulted in him developing his anti-karmic ideals. His new employer personally tutored him in the art of combat, initially training him to use a whip and then developing his skirmishing style.
After a fruitful career his employer passed away when Kojiro was 26. Kojiro's tireless work and aptitude were rewarded as his employer divided his estate and left Kojiro with a large percentage of his slave holdings. Using his knowledge of maritime trade, Kojiro set up a new depot in a small village on an island at the foot of an estuary which divided two frequently-warring kingdoms. By purchasing war-prisoners during wartime and selling slaves during peacetime Kojiro quickly rose to be one of the most prominent slavers in the region. At his current age of 59 Kojiro's base of operations have since grown nearly 10-fold and with a long life expectancy still ahead of him he plans on continuing to develop and grow his business without an end in sight.
Kojiro still enjoys conducting a lot of his business on his own, in this image he's waiting for a group of mercenaries who he plans on paying to disrupt a competitor who has recently set up on the island.
