I threw together this little guide on how to compress your icons for FurAffinity to make them look nicer!

It's probably put together poorly and i'm sure it could be done better, but.. It's something!

I used Photoshop CC for this, but i'm sure you could use any version of Photoshop to do this. And in theory, any other program that can save .gif formats.
