Yeah, shops that mail the games sometimes ship a few days earlier then the release date so it makes it there in time. Some got their physical copies a week in advance ... so lucky them :P

Y'know, I thought I was being mean, when I thought Meganium was a grassy punching bag. Still feel a little guilty for that but, still. My Delphox's base speed was faster and that...so her defense at the level, is it cause grass doesn't have natural high speed? (Askin fer yer opinion)

Yes most grass pokemon do not have over 80 base speed

the fastest grass pokemon are Sceptile, Whimsicott. and Serperior.
We all assume decidueye would have stats similar to that of sceptile only a physical attacker not a mixed.

the types normally with a lot of weakness become defensive pokemon such as ice, grass, and rock

it doesn't really make sense given those elements are damage types and work best at assassin types. every once and awhile a good pokemon comes along with god like stats for its element. Such as sceptile, weavile, and Terrakion.

ice has it rough ice only resists ice, what is it doing as a defensive type that only resists itself... no one knows. Thats why very few ice pokemon actually get used.

How the damage system of pokemon works is all in favor for damage, defense is okay but if you cant heal defense is completely useless do to how damage works. Unless your defensive pokemon has a monster like attack or special attack. It normally goes down unless it can stall... and no one likes stalling.

So...Decidueye...final verdict "Flying grass target" yes?

its actually ghost grass, if it stayed flying grass it wouldnt have a chance do to any pokemon with an ice move

It's okay just its never gonna sweep stuff well unless you got some way to boost its speed or lower the speed of other pokemon

of course, against a fight or normal, I'd assume you get Ghost's standard immunities, so there is one nice advantage.

Also, we don't know what the IVs or training involved - it might have a potential for better speed on average, and this one player got stuck with the lard ass...

Years later, I'm able to sweep whole teams with a non buffed Deci that isn't even max IV. I think it just depends on of you know what you're doing, not the stats alone. Bc I legit never had issues despite not worrying about stats.

in sun and moon it dropped to RU (rarely used) if that tells you anything about its power level at the time.

the problem with Decidueye at the time of its release was that Tapu Bulu exists and was just a better pokemon do to gamefreaking screwing it over on its stats and move pool.

Ultra sun and moon came out and huge power creep happen that made other pokemon like Tsareena better than Decidueye leading it to drop to NU (never use)

fast forward to today and its a powerful pokemon to use in RU tier ... and thats about it

what is so dumb about all of this is the fact Venusaur is faster than Decidueye.... idk... why they decided a grass type... like deci should be bulky... and not a glass cannon...? Look at Meowscarada now thats an amazing pokemon.

I dont know how you are able to sweep whole teams without a buffed Deci ?.... unless you are like playing NU or RU tiers? then yes it can sweep through most pokemon there.

I don't play S/M anymore but I transferred it to later games.

Though even in S/M I never had issues with it and usually paired it with a lycanroc (Day and Dusk, never used Night).

I do l play casual yes, but I know when I go online, it's mostly "best pokemon" type people (dunno the official term, but basically the peeps who over breed to get 6iv and only go for the strongest pokes even if they're ugly. I don't have the patience for that myself lol. ). But even when fighting those guys, my Deci (though to be fair you said he should be stronger now despite being transferred from S/M) or even my Pikachu (from oras) can handle it. I just have an all around team with varied types and moves for almost any situation. Heck my oras low stat Lucario swept the entire oras elite with just aura sphere spam. Sure i healed in between fights but he mostly one shotted everyone... mostly lol. (Though I don't remember why I did this. Maybe I was bored?)

Well, they lied again. Typical. I mean, why even have the Speed stat if they ain't gonna use it right? For example, Whitney's Miltank should NOT have been able to attack first half the time.

My point is.. since this is an attack based game Decidueye should be really fast because it says it can use a move in a tenth of a second.

pokemon is really weird about how it gives pokemon speeds.. its almost random

such as slaking is literally a giant ass sloth.. yet its actually a really speedy pokemon somehow.

then they also give us dex speeds of pokemon like dugtrio moves at 60 mph

yet rapidash moves at 150 mph

and pidgeot moves at mach 2

while garchomp moves at speeds of a jet. Mach 2.3

should it go garchomp, pidgeot, rapidash, then dugtrio in terms of speed right?

then again they could be saying this is how fast they act and do a move.. then why is decidueye so low on the list if its that fast at using a move?

a bullet can hit a target in 0.20 seconds while decidueye can stick a feather into someone in 0.10 seconds

it kinda was a disappointment when decidueyes speed came out, do to its typing it has many weakness but speed pretty much determines if a pokemon is good or not.
point being defense doesn't work in pokemon as there are ways around defense.. but a solid attack and speed like garchomp? Its devastating as there are few pokemon to stand against its power and those that can can also fall to it pretty easy.
