Nope not a human skull, look at the nose and jaw configuration. That's some kind of monkey or ape.

So not an ape or monkey but still not the modern homo sapien.

I think the lion was bored, so it decided to knaw on someone's head, and the person was the only thing around.

That is a diagram of some of the anthropoid bones found in a cave below what paleoanthropologists believe was an ancient large cat "storage tree." Many of the bones bounced down into this particular hole in the ground, among which were found skulls with indentations in the back - sure enough, they fit some of the lower canines of prehistoric cats. So, this is the big kitty version of dragging prey along the ground with your mouth.

I recognize this picture. It's of a leopard attacking an early homonid. An anthropithecus, I believe.

Too much Discovery channels will do that to you. I may watch lots of TV, but it's pretty much all Science Channel, Animal Planet, History Channel, National Geo and the like.
