Nice! I've had this dinky little Yamaha starter bass for about 4 years now, but I'd like to move up to a Fender Jazz bass and defret the Yamaha for that sexy fretless growl tone <3

Cool. This is an original '72 Fender Jazz that was used by my best friend's dad in the 80's touring with his band Soka and playing with other reggae and funk bands. It's such a beautiful instrument. That isnt my amp anymore. I still use that roland cube (also an original!) but I got a hartke 4x10in 250w combo for Christmas so I'm set for gigs. The Trace Elliot, pictured, was good but I sold it for much needed cash last year. Besides.. My new amp has wheels

My other bass is a cheap but VERY good SX. I dont think theyre a big brand or anything because I got mine for about $400 new. It's weighted the same as the fender and plays just as well, although the vintage feel of the fender makes the whole thing have soul. I also own a squire jazz and a shitty ashton acoustic bass for practicing with at home. Both the SX and the Fender live at said best friend's house because that's where band practice is every week, but the never used acoustic and the squire get a real workout here at home.

I'll stop chewing your ear off now. I guess I just like bass.

Sounds like you've got some kickass gear. Anywhere I can hear some of your band's stuff?

We're recording a demo soon, hopefully. We recorded straight onto Tom's mac the other week and it came out alright, except for the ending haha. And then Tom put crowd noises over it so it sounds live which, I guess, masks the whole recorded onto a laptop thing.
