A little info in Rai past life he was raise as a slayer for higher never able to smile for his world was darkness to the point he was curse with his arm that turn all he touch to ash.

After a battle with the spirit king that cost his life the King took pity on him and allowed him to become a fire spirit of his forest to allow him a second chance to live sorta.

Till the fateful day he met Owa and for the first time he had a friend and felt true happiness for the first time.
