I've been searching for what to post after this week. I need to ease myself back in.
I came across a watercolor I did during a weekend where I was battling extreme depression and feelings of hanging myself, to be very open.
The thing is that I made it through, I'm still here. Our first instinct when something hurts is to pull back away from it,
which is understandable. It's called a reflex for a reason. However, with my depression, I pushed through it, and when I
see the signs of its return, I'm stronger and it's easier to push through it again. Depression comes and goes, like clouds,
but I am the sun, and though I rise and fall, but I will always be there.
We all have a lot to get through in our life, and we can do this together, as One.
Inspired by Jim Brandenburg photo, titled "Brother Wolf".

This poster was given to me in High School by my Wolf Sister, and it meant so much to me.

With the photo, the emotion is implied. The single eye I see looks to convey wariness, perhaps a trace of fear. Without seeing all of it and the body language that carries more of the message, I can only guess.
Your work, on the other hand, most definitely conveys a certain level of pain, either emotional or psychological. Even with much of your face hidden behind the tree, the message is emphatically clear.
I'm grateful you had the strength to work your way through your depression. I've walked those darkened woods, too. Many of us have. I have no doubt you're stronger as a result.

Depression can consume your entire existence if you let it. It takes a lot of strength to break free from it, and you definitely have that strength to finally break free after 6 years.
By the way, sorry I never met you at MFF. To be perfectly honest, when I was in the dealer's area I couldn't remember what table you were at, and when I got to my room at night I never thought of getting on FA to look up your posts about it. I hope you had a great time!
