Not to be weird or anything but isn't customary to hold the flag pole with two hand when doing colors, or at least have one hand while it's station on the belt.... Even then shouldn't the flags be tilted? I'm just want to make sure I'm getting this right or does Britain do something else?
By the way good art, nice commemoration.

I can only speak from an American point of view (I'm an stupid yankee) but according to Army Regulation 840-10, when a national flag is carried by military personnel, it is to be carried with the left at the base of the pole and the right hand at nose/eye level. The preceding is true for state/region flags. When the command of present arms is given, all subordinate flags will be lowered to a 45 degree angle (your arm is straight out for most people). According to us Army customs, however (every branch has it's own caveots) the national flag/colors are never to lower.
Bonus info: The national flag and the national colors mean different things. The national flag is just the flag. The national colors is the flag with a gold fringe around the perimeter of the flag.

I had originally planned the story behind this one to be that they were leading their teams in a series of war games; but with the turn of events we have witnessed in the past week, I think that the fact that they are standing together is what we truly need; now more than ever.
