That's too bad, The poster is interesting enough to make me want to read the story behind it. Any plans to complete the story in the future?

The audio series stalled when the long-time narrator John Leeson retired last year. I'm not sure if Terry Askew (who writes the stories and owns copyright to the characters) is likely to finish the story himself as a novel or not. I suppose it's all kind of up in the air just now.

Actually he did agree to do a few stories as long as time allowed him to do so. The series stalled upon the retirement of hospital radio in the UK as a whole.

Not quite. It was retired from Hospital Radio because the repeats were beginning to sound dated. Newer episodes would have been broadcast if John had decided to stay with the show.

I thought he would agree to record new material though? As long as he was willing to do so. Anyway, you can't really argue that hospital radio broadcasting has hit quite an obstacle, what with the surge in wireless devices and such?

Modern Hospital Radio is fed to a bedside unit which also contains a tv and a telephone. The phone and the radio are free to use, but the tv costs money. Most Hospital Radio stations offer an online service. Radio Haven hasn't gone online as yet, but there are plans to do so in the near future.

John is no longer available to record Space Gypsy, but I have spoken to a couple of other actors recently who have shown an interest. I just want to establish whether or not there is a demand before I commit any further to this project.

That is sad to hear about John no longer being involved, but he has to consider a lot of things. At least there are others that are interested.

Aw, that's a pity, because this really is quite a good poster! At first I actually wondered if this was the cover for an upcoming comic project or something.

I didn't even know until just now from checking Wikipedia that Space Gypsy was discontinued! Pity. I listened to some stories around Christmas time two years ago or so, and they were really sweet.

They were :) Sadly John Leeson has now retired and I don't know exactly what Terry Askew's plans are.

If only Hospital Radio haven't folded as an industry, Terry could have arranged some time for John to come in and complete this (at this own pace of course), but them's the brakes.

Hospital Radio hasn't folded. If you check out my Golden Oldies Section on Facebook you will see that it is very much alive and well.

Ah yes, sorry I forgot about those shows you still broadcast. My bad. But as I said, its probably got less listeners then before. Besides I thought that the future of the project, actually lay with it's online audience, but that dosen't seem to be the case now sadly.

I thought he would have thought that the X's may have been a bit much, as they are often used in such a way to describe something else? Something that a little fox cub shouldn't be seeing.

The X's represent illicit sweeties. Nothing more.

I know, but I thought something a little more subtle could have been used, but they do have XXX mints, so it's not too suggestive I suppose.

I keep imagining this in greyscale. Too much early TV, I suppose, but Prohibition has a black & white ambiance to me.

I actually muted the colours for this a little bit compared to what I normally did for Space Gypsy :D
