I love painting cats - Yup!
This kitten was commissioned by a local doctor who saw a graphite drawing similar to this in a vet's office. She loved the drawing, but couldn't find the original artist, and asked me to paint a large colored version of it. The hole in the ear isn't a wound, it's actually a "TNR" mark (trap, neuter, release.) When a feral female cat is caught and spayed, and then later released back into the wild, they clip the ear with a hole, notch, or sometimes the top of the ear is cut flat. This lets people know the cat has already been spayed. Because unlike males, you can't check their back end to see if they've been fixed. :P LOL.
(You might've already known that though ^^^) One of our 17 not-so-feral-anymore cats is a TNR female. She has the top of her right ear cut flat, and she's such a sweet old lady. <3

its lovely hon and working with a feral cat for 16 years I know one thing.. it takes time but you can very much tame them like you said. It's just kinda heart breaking knowing there so many kittens and adult cats are feral with no loving homes. But this is why TNR is very much needed, even though I still believe if you can get them young enough the kittens don't have to live a life on the streets but in a caring loving home.
Exactly. If I could adopt all of the ferals and keep them safe I would! Most of our cats have been tamed ferals, and some have been the most friendly, cuddly, and loving cats I've ever met. There are still some that will never trust people enough to be "pets", but we should still look out for them as furry friends. Every kitty deserves a chance to be loved.
Thanks! >^_^<
I'm still a bit off 'n' online, but nothing was disabled. Still a bit spacey with uploading since I'm using mobile devices for my social sites. My desktop computer is in a totally different space from my studio, and this site is tough to read on mobile - pfft. But I'm still here!
