The next room over was quiet and filled with computers and medical equipment. Torrent stepped in further to find more of the same on desks that were all round.
"Torrent, what are you doing?" Ash asked as she peered into the room. "We need to get all these children out of here."
"We don:t have them all. Torrent said and walked further in.
In the back she saw a metal door, and stepped a bit closer.
"Come on, kids." Ash told the young hybrids and lead them inside and to a corner. "We should be okay in here."
"Var är vi?" The Anteater said "Vad är det här rummet?"as it looked at the computors
"É esta a saída?" one of the other children asked "Estamos seguros?"
"Don't worry guys..." Ash said, clearly not knowing to what they're saying. "Torrent who else is here?"
"Some other children." Torrent said and walked to the metal door. "In here." she put her ear on the door and concentrated...
There was scurrying and growling on the other side, and breathing, heavy breathing.
"We need to get this door open." Torrent said and tried to turn the handle. "it's stuck." She pressed harder on the handle and jiggled it a bit.
Boom. Something thumped against the door.
The children shuttered at the noise.
"It's okay, it's okay..." Ash said then looked to Torrent "What was that? An explosion?"
"Explosion?" one of the children shouted "Explosio?"
"I don't know..." Torrent said and wedged her knife into the handle "It's why I have to get in there."
"What if their dead?" Ash asked
Chink! The hinge finally moved.
"We'll find out." Torrent said. She put her knife away, and then tugged the door. It didn't budge, so she pulled harder. She pulled it with all her might, and it nudged just a little.
Them something else made it fly open.
