This is another melee weapon that was used by the dominant thousand-year empire, the Reign of Darkness. This weapon was also used by a "Blood" branch of the Lycan army. The red-eyed lycans would use this weapon in combat, and with its gruesome appearance, hence its name, the power-abilitied lycans can decimate a wave of armored troops with this morning star.
