So, I was sitting in my recording studio (i.e., my computer room) when Dipper came up to me.
"Hey, do you think you can record me singing a song?"
"Sure. Got one in mind?"
He handed me a CD. "This one."
"Dipper, this song is from the 80's."
"Yeah. So?"
"It's about a girl. I thought you didn't like girls."
"It's a song, okay? So it's about a girl. So what? I like the song."
"Well...if you want..."
So, here it is.

They're British. They sure as all get-out don't sound British, do they. They're a pretty good band, and had a few minor hits in the mid-70s, then they disappeared from the US for the most part. They were still popular in Euorpe, though.
And by the way, "Oh Carol" was released in 1978.

I've never heard of smokie before (and I come from the UK too, though I'm not old enough to remember 'em). Pretty good though, yes I like that well done there with that one! I think you've got it just right with that one. But (and a bit OT) why did it remind me of these songs .... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdOC.....eature=related and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bFGfIAJRvo . Even more obscure :) .....
