Leon gazed in awe as he wandered around the convention. Everywhere he looked, people were all dressed up and having fun. Suddenly a voice called out, and the young wolf turned just in time to be glomped hard by an enthusiastic bat.
"ROVER!"
The bat let go and stepped back, smiling wide. She spoke, her words coming like a torrent.
"Oh my god! That's an amazing costume. Like, you look just like Rover! I love the Spooky Scouts!"
Leon blushed, the colour just showing through his dyed fur.
"Uh, thanks," he said.
The bat giggled.
"How did you make this costume?" she asked.
"I just dyed my fur," Leon said. "Mum helped me match the colours, and styled my hair."
He rubbed at the inside of his ears.
"This was the only part I couldn't do. It's a bit too sensitive for the dye."
The bat nodded.
"You still look awesome," she said, whipping out her phone. "Can I get a picture with you?"
Leon nodded. In a flash the bat sided up to him and snapped a picture before hugging him and shaking his hand.
"Rover's my favourite," the bat said. "Followed closely by Crimson."
Suddenly she jumped and clapped her hands, an idea coming to her.
"Hey," she said. "We should do a team cosplay. Next con you do Rover, and I can do Crimson. What do you think?"
Leon smiled widely.
"That would be fantastic," he said. "My sister doesn't really come to conventions with me, and I'd love a cosplay buddy."
The bat clapped and blushed.
"Great!" she said.
The bat pulled a piece of paper from her pocket and jotted down her email and phone number, handing it to the wolf.
"Here's my details," she said. "My name's Crystal."
Leon blushed and smiled before replying.
"Leon."
Crystal smiled back.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Leon. I cant wait to cosplay together."
The bat quickly leaned in, kissing Leon on the cheek before disappearing off into the crowd. The wolf looked at the paper in his hands. If the rest of the day was going to be like that, he was in for a grand time...
