I did a basketweave style decoration on the outside and topped with assorted flowers and leaves.

Much work needed but for having never done basketweave style I think it came out all right and I learned a lot from making the piece as well. It'll be cut into on Sunday and I'll hopefully have a pic with the cake sliced to show off then.

I'd enjoy offering a little lesson sometime, sure!
Also if you have a local Michaels I can recommend them. They often have series of cake decorating classes using the Wilton method, and arn't usually to costly (But you would have to buy supplies, but for cake decorating you'd need to do that anyway... I need to buy more things myself.)
